- Hello,
-
- I have recently purchased a Motorola Lifestyle 28.8 and have been
- experiencing disconnection problem when using Netscape to log inot my
- local ISP. Getting to my ISP's Home Page is no problem. However,
- sometimes (not always) when I click on something to go to some other
- site and instead of the usual "connect:contacted. Waiting for reply
- .." I get "connect:contacting host:proxy.cyberway.com.sg:8080 ..."
- and after a few short seconds I am suddenly disconnected. The modem
- will then attempt to redial or I have to re-click the site I was
- clicking and the modem will re-dial and connect back. At this stage it
- usually successfully load the site I want. This problem can be quite
- persistent. Does anyone knows what is the problem? Is it a problem
- with my modem or ISP or Netscape?
-
- I am using Netscape 1.1. My init. string is
- AT&F&C1&D3\Q3%R3\V2S7=90S10=50L1.
-
- Notice I have even set S10=5 sec as compared to default of 1.4 sec.
- Could it be S10 problem? (S10 --- Lost carrier detect time).
-
- Please Help.
-
- Thanks.
